Courses & Retreats

Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa organizes regular courses on a wide range of subjects related to Tibetan Buddhism. These courses take place on weekends and holidays.

The Institute also organizes meditation retreats that are sometimes hosted at nearby Pundarika Retreat Center.

The courses and retreats on Tibetan Buddhism are:

  • of varying lengths – a single session to a series of weekends,
  • of varying levels – introductory, intermediate, and advanced,
  • taught either by a Tibetan master or a Western teacher,
  • always taught or translated into Italian, and often also taught or translated into English.

Weekend courses and retreats usually begin Friday evening at 21.00 and end on Sunday at 12.30.

Courses consist in:

  • sessions of teachings on Friday evening, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning,
  • guided meditations before breakfast on Saturday and Sunday,
  • a Saturday afternoon session of questions and answers,
  • a Saturday evening session of various activities such as a video on a related topic, a prayer ceremony (puja), or a guided meditation.

Some courses are complemented by sessions of yoga to relax the body.

Retreats consist in regular sessions of guided meditation spaced throughout the day.
